IDOLATORY - SWAMI VIVEKANAND AND BIBLE

Listen to these words of Swami Vivekanand.
It has become a trite saying that idolatry is wrong and every man swallows it without questioning. I once thought so, and to pay the penalty of that I had to learn my lesson sitting at the feet of a man who realised everything through idols. I allude to Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. If such Ramakrishna Paramahamsas are produced by idol-worship, what will you have - the reformer’s creed or any number of idols? I want an answer. 
Take a thousand idols more if you can produce Ramakrishna Paramahamsas through idol-worship, and may God speed you! Produce such noble natures by any means you can. 
Yet idolatry is condemned! Why? Nobody knows. 
Because some hundreds of years ago some man of Jewish blood happened to condemn it? That is, he happened to condemn everybody else’s idols except his own. If God is represented in any beautiful form or any symbolic form, said the Jew, it is awfully bad; it is sin. But if He is represented in the form of a chest, with two angels sitting on each side, and a cloud hanging over it, it is the holy of holies. If God comes in the form of a dove, it is holy. But if He comes in the form of a cow, it is heathen superstition; condemn it!
Like most of the urban youth of today, Swami Vivekanand (earlier name - Narender Nath) was a product of missionary school. The fact reflects in the earlier part of his statement. But he was strong and aware enough to get out of the fraud.
In the intervening period of more then a century, missionaries have tightened their grip over the Hindu psyche to such an extent that they take pride in being what the missionary schools and our education system wants them to be. Secular. 
The effect is so profound that something so base as Bible has started gaining acceptance as a 'holy' book. 
The classic case of 'An oft repeated lie becomes truth'.
Let us see in what tone the Bible talks about Hindus. Five hundred years ago, the term idolaters would have included Mayans and Incas also but they have been wiped out by Christians, only Hindus are left.


The following extract is from the New International Version of Bible. It is chapter 10 of 1 Corinthians, which is a part of the new testament.

1. For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.

2. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

3. They all ate the same spiritual food

4. and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.

5. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
(Are we talking about the God of mercy?)

6. Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.
(It is like a teacher slapping Vijay to teach a lesson to Ajay)

7. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.”

8. We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.
(The 'God' is taking pride in killing 23,000 of his own creation in a day)

9. We should not test Christ, as some of them did—and were killed by snakes.
(Can anyone even test God?)

10. And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel.
(God acting as a bully?)

11. These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.

12. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!

13. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

14. Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.
(Why is this God so jealous of idolatry?)

15. I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say.

16. Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?
(Can drinking blood and eating flesh be considered civilized?)

17. Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf.

18. Consider the people of Israel: Do not those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?

19. Do I mean then that food sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything?

20. No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons.
(Who created these demons? Were they created by God?)

21. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons.

22. Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

23. “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.

24. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.

25. Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience,

26. for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.”

27. If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience.

28. But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience.

29. I am referring to the other person’s conscience, not yours. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience?

30. If I take part in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of something I thank God for?

31. So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

32. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God—

33. even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

One can derive the conclusion that these are rumblings of some barbaric man claiming to be God, or can think otherwise!

I DID NOT COME TO BRING PEACE, BUT A SWORD:JESUS

In his monogram titled 'Jesus Christ: an artifice for aggression', Sh. Sita Ram Goel, one of the most upright historians of our country has proved that Jesus Christ is a creation of Church. No such man ever existed. Sh. Goel had the time, resources and propensity to conduct such research. What is ironic is that it has been done on the basis of findings of various Christian historians. 

Swami Dayanand Sarswati, the founder of Arya Samaj, was not a historian but a spiritual soul. He analyzed the content of Bible in terms of its spritual content, irrespective of its hisorical authenticity. He concluded that the Biblical 'God' was some barbaric man ( जंगली पुरुष). 

Let us see for ourselves. 

Following is the tenth chapter from gospel (New International version) by Matthew, the disciple of Jesus (if there was a Jesus). It will give us some insight into the creed of Christianity.


1. Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
१. यीशु ने अपने १२ चेलों को बुलाया तथा उन्हें बुरी आत्माओं को भगाने का अधिकार देते हुए सभी प्रकार के रोग भगाने को कहा.
2. These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John;
२. उन १२ चेलों के नाम हैं: साइमन (जिसे पीटर भी कहते हैं) तथा उस का भाई एन्द्रियु; ज़ेबेदी का पुत्र जेम्स, तथा उसका भाई जौन; 
3. Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;
३. फिलिप तथा बार्थोलोमु; थोमस तथा कर वसूलने वाला मैथियु; अल्फौस का पुत्र जेम्स, और थादिउस;
4. Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. 
४. कट्टरपंथी साइमन तथा जुडास इस्कारिओत, जिसने उससे छल किया था.
5. These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans.
५. यीशु ने इन १२ को यह निर्देश दिया: "अन्य जाती वालों के अथवा समारिया वासियों के नगर में मत जाना". 
Comment: If God has created all the universe, will he fall to a level to  discriminate between his own creatures?
समीक्षा: इश्वर, जो इस जगत का रचयिता है, सभी प्राणियों को सामान रूप से प्रेम करता है. क्या वो मनुष्यों में भेदभाव करेंगे?
6. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 
६. इस्राइल के भटके हुए भेड़ बकरियों के पास जाना.
Comment: Will the creator use such a language?
समीक्षा: क्या इश्वर ऐसी अभद्र भाषा का प्रयोग करेंगे?
7. As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 
७. तुम जा कर यह सन्देश देना: 'स्वर्ग का राज्य आ गया है.'
8. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
८. रोगियों को उपचार दो, जो मर गए हैं, उन्हें जीवित करो, कोढ़ियों को स्वच्छ करो, राक्षसों को भगाओ. तुम्हें प्रचुर मात्र में प्राप्त हुआ है, उसे वितरित करो.
9. “Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts—
९. " अपनी पेटी में कोई स्वर्ण, रजत अथवा कांस्य मत बाँध कर ले जाना -
10. no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep. 
१०. यात्रा के लिए अतिरिक्त वस्त्र अथवा जूते मत ले कर चलना, क्योंकि कर्मचारी योग्य होता है.
11. Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. 
११. गाँव अथवा नगर में पहुँचो तो योग्य आसामी को खोज कर उसके यहाँ निवास करो.
12. As you enter the home, give it your greeting. 
१२. घर में प्रवेश करने पर प्रणाम करो.
13. If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 
१३. यदि घर ठीक लगे तो वहाँ शान्ति रखो; यदि ऐसा न हो, तो शान्ति का आशीर्वाद वापिस ले लो.
14. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.
१४. यदि कोई तुम्हारा स्वागत नहीं करता अथवा तुम्हारी बात नहीं मानता, अपने पाँव की धूल झाड दो और उस घर अथवा नगर को त्याग दो
15. Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah* on the day of judgment than for that town.
१५. निर्णय के दिन (इस्लाम में जिसे क़यामत का दिन कहा है) उस नगर की दुर्दशा सोडोम तथा गोमोराह* से भी भयानक होगी, ये मेरा मत है.
*Sodom and Gomorrah are said to be two towns where sin had increased, therefore, angels of 'God' destroyed them with fire and brimstone.
Comment: Will a 'God of mercy' destroy cities? Will it not be a merciless act for those children, women, men and animals who live in the city and have not committed bad deeds?
* सोडोम तथा गोमोराह नामक नगरों का वर्णन बाइबल में कई स्थानों पर आता है. बाइबल के अनुसार, इन दोनों नगरों को 'गौड' के दूतों ने जला कर नष्ट कर दिया था क्योंकि इन में पाप बढ़ गया था.
समीक्षा: क्या न्यायप्रिय एवं दयालु इश्वर ऐसा करेंगे? क्या यह अबोध बच्चों, महिलायों, पशुओं एवं सज्जन पुरुषों के प्रति क्रूरता एवं अन्याय नहीं है ?
16. “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. 
१६. "मैं तुम्हें भेड़ियों में भेड़ बना कर भेज रहा हूँ. इसलिए एक सर्प की भाँती धूर्त और कबूतर की भाँती भोले बन कर रहना.
17. Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. 
१७. सदा चौकन्ने रहना; तुम्हें स्थानीय आधिकारिक समितियों के समक्ष प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा तथा सभाओं में तुम्हें कोड़े मारे जायेंगे.
Comment: Are these disciples on secret agents?
समीक्षा: ये 'गौड' के चेले हैं अथवा गुप्तचर?
18. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 
१८. मेरे कारण तुम्हें राजाओं एवं शासकों के समक्ष उनके तथा अन्यजातियों के लिए साक्षी के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा.
19. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 
१९. जब तुम्हें बंधक बनाया जायेगा तो ये सोच कर चिंतित मत होना कि तुम्हें क्या कहना है. समय आने पर तुम्हें बता दिया जाएगा.
20. for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
२०. क्योंकि उस समय तुम नहीं बोलोगे, तुम्हारे माध्यम से तुम्हारे बाप की आत्मा बोलेगी.
21. “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.
२१. "भाई धोखे से भाई की हत्या करेगा, पिता अपने बच्चे की; बच्चे अपने माता पिता के विरोधी होंगे और उनकी हत्या करवा देंगे.
Comment: Is this what the 'God' wants?
समीक्षा: क्या 'गौड' गृहयुद्ध चाहता है ?
22. You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 
२२. मेरे कारण तुमसे घृणा की जायेगी, किन्तु जो अंत तक दृढ रहेगा, वही बचेगा.
23. When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
२३. जब तुम्हें एक स्थान पर पकड़ने लगें, भाग कर कहीं और चले जाओ. सच कहता हूँ, तुम्हारे द्वारा इस्राइल के सभी नगरों में जाने से पूर्व ही मसीहा आ जाएगा.
25. It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!
२५. शिष्य अपने गुरु के सामान तथा दास अपने स्वामी के सामान हो जाएँ तो यह उनके लिए पर्याप्त है. यदि घर के मुखिया को बील्ज़ेबुब कहा जाता है तो अन्य सदस्य कैसे होंगे!
Ba'al Zebul was a deity of pre christian times and literally means 'Lord of high places' or a 'High lord'. He was considered a deity in cities of Philistine. Later on the Christian texts have derogated it into Beelzebub - 'lord of the flies' and recorded it into their texts as 'Satan'. 
बाल ज़ेबुल (उच्च देवता) नामक देवता की अराधना फिलस्तीन के नगरों में की जाती थी. बाइबल के विशेषज्ञ थोमस चेनी का मत है कि ईसाईयों ने इसे भ्रष्ट करके बील्ज़ेबुब अर्थात 'मक्खियों का देवता' नाम दे कर 'शैतान' बना दिया है.
26. “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 
२६. "इसलिए उनसे भयभीत मत होना, क्योंकि ऐसा कुछ भी छिपा हुआ नहीं है जो प्रकाश में नहीं आएगा.
27. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.
२७. जो मैं तुम्हें अन्धकार में बताता हूँ, उसे दिन के प्रकाश में बताना; जो मैंने तुम्हारे कान में धीमे से कहा, उसे छत से चिल्ला कर कहना.
28. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 
२८. उनसे भयभीत मत होना जो शरीर की हत्या कर सकते हैं परन्तु आत्मा की नहीं. बल्कि, उस से भय करो जो नरक में शरीर एवं आत्मा दोनों का नाश कर सकता है.
Comment: What kind of 'loving God' has to terrorize people by his power to kill body and soul?
समीक्षा: क्या यह गौड है जो आतंकित करना चाहता है?
29. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.
२९. दो चिड़ियाँ एक पैसे की हैं, इस पर भी, एक भी चिड़िया तुम्हारे बाप की जानकारी के बिना नहीं मरती.
30. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 
३०. यहाँ तक कि तुम्हारे सर का एक एक बाल भी गिना हुआ है.
31. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
३१. इसलिए निश्चिन्त रहो; तुम कई चिड़ियों से मूल्यवान हो.
32. “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.
३२. "जो सब के समक्ष मेरा आभारी होगा, मैं भी उसे स्वर्ग में अपने बाप के समक्ष स्वीकार करूंगा.
Comment: Is the creator of this limitless universe, God so narrow minded that he wants to be acknowldged?
समीक्षा: क्या इस अनंत ब्रहमांड का रचयिता इतनी संकुचित सोच वाला है कि वो अपने रचे हुए मनुष्यों से अपनी महानता की स्वीकृति चाहता है?
33. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.
३३. जो मुझे अन्यों के समक्ष अस्वीकार करेगा, मैं भी उसे स्वर्ग में अपने बाप के समक्ष अस्वीकार कर दूंगा.

VERSES 34 - 37 FLY IN THE FACE OF MISSIONARIES WHO ARE HELL BENT ON PROVING THAT 'JESUS' MEANS 'LOVE, PEACE AND MERCY'.
आगामी चार पंक्तियाँ ३४ - ३७ मिशनरियों के मुंह पर तमाचा हैं, जो आजकल यीशु को प्रेम, सद्भावना और करुणा की मूर्ती सिद्ध करने की चेष्टा में लगे रहते हैं.
 
34. “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 
३४. "यह मत समझना कि मैं धरती पर शांति स्थापना के लिए आया हूँ. मैं शान्ति लेकर नहीं आया अपितु खड़ग (तलवार) लाया हूँ.
35. For I have come to turn “‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
३५. मेरे आने का उद्देश्य है "पुत्र को पिता से लड़ाना, पुत्री को उसकी माता से लड़ाना, बहु को सास से लड़ाना.
36. a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’
३६. हर मनुष्य के शत्रु उसके अपने ही सम्बन्धी होंगे.
37. “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 
३७. जो भी अपने माता पिता को मुझ से अधिक प्रेम करेगा अथवा अपने बच्चों को मुझ से अधिक प्रेम करेगा वो मेरा चेला होने के योग्य नहीं है.
38. whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
३८. जो भी क्रॉस उठा कर मेरा कहा नहीं मानता, वो मेरा चेला नहीं है.
39.  Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
३९. जिसे जीवन मिला है वो खो देगा, जो मेरे लिए अपना जीवन खोएगा, उसे जीवन मिलेगा.
40. “Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. 
४०. जो तुम्हारा स्वागत करता है, वो मेरा स्वागत करता है, जो मेरा स्वागत करता है वो उसका स्वागत करता है जिसने मुझे भेजा है.
41. Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 
४१. जो मसीहा का स्वागत करता है उसे मसीहा से पुरूस्कार मिलेगा, और जो सज्जनों का स्वागत सज्जनों की भाँती करता है, उसे सज्जनों का पुरूस्कार प्राप्त होगा.
42. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”
४२. जो इन्हें एक प्याला शीतल जल भी पिलाएगा, ये मेरा वाक्य है की वह भी पुरूस्कार पायेगा.
हे इश्वर! इस गौड और इसके अनुयायिओं से हमारी एवं हमारे राष्ट्र की रक्षा करना.

With reference to line 25, where the demonization of a deity of Philistine, namely Ba'al Bezul at the hands of Church has been explained, the same process has been going on for Hindu deities also.
