Once a human mind is exposed to a new idea, the mind never goes back to its initial stage. The idea remains. Lives.
During the dark ages of Europe, the church controlled, or tried to control the populace by force. The church and its popes thought that they can rule the humanity. Given enough resources in terms of men and money, it might be possible. But controlling minds is something which is not always possible. The result was revolt to the oppressive Church empire. Europe burst out of it and breathed in an air which it had known during its pre Christianity age. Air free from bigotry and closed thinking. The censorship methods of Church failed. The rewards were Copernicus, Galileo, Bruno, Voltaire, Freud, Thomas Paine and many who are unknown to us.
The day Muslims will muster enough courage to dismiss the authority of the Mullahs with the contempt that they deserve, we might see some genuine Middle east intellectuals. What the Muslims need are more A.P.J Abdul Kalams and Tasleema Nasreens rather then media created clowns like M.F.Hussain.
But right now, nothing of the sort is visible right now. On the contrary, the Islamic popes are trying to befool ordinary Muslims with atrocious claims, bordering on buffoonery. Sample this:
A psychologist from Netherlands, Professor Van der Hoven announced his
discovery about the effect of reading the Quran and repeating the word
“Allah,” both on patients and on normal persons. The Dutch professor
confirms his discovery with studies and research applied on many
patients over a period of three years. Some of his patients were
non-Muslims, others do not speak Arabic and were trained to pronounce
the word “Allah.” Clearly, the result was great, particularly on those
who suffer from dejection and tension. Al Watan, a Saudi Daily reported
that the psychologist was quoted to say that Muslims who can read Arabic
and who read the Quran regularly can protect themselves from
psychological diseases.
The psychologist explained how each letter in the
word “ Allah” affects healing of psychological diseases. He pointed out
in his research that pronouncing the first letter in the word “Allah’
which is the letter “A” released from the respiratory system, controls
breathing. He added that pronouncing the velar consonant (L) in the
Arabic way, with the tongue touching slightly the upper part of the jaw
producing a short pause and then repeating the same pause constantly
relaxes the aspiration. Also, pronouncing the last letter, which is the
letter (H) makes a contact between the lungs and the heart and in turn
this controls the heartbeat.
What is exciting in the study is that this
psychologist is a non-Muslim, but interested in Islamic sciences and
searching for the secrets of the Holy Quran. Allah, the Great and
Glorious says: “ We will show them Our signs in the universe and in
their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this Quran is
the truth.” (Holy Quran-42:53).
If you have not burst an artery laughing, then try to concentrate on the text.
So, we have a dutch professor here. That might give us an impression that 'the' professor is an academician. But which institute or University he belongs to, is not mentioned.
The reason probably is that the imaginary 'professor' conducted an imaginary 'research' in the fertile laboratory of some radically indoctrinated goaty Maulavi.
Moreover, Van der Hoven is no dutch name but a last name Vanderhoven.
But we must appreciate the IQ of this propagandist. It must be very near to that of my dining table.
Let us look at his gems:
(H) makes a contact between the lungs and the heart and this controls the heart beat.
Poor we! We always thought that the lungs and the heart are always in contact. May be its time to chuck our Anatomy books out of our houses and run to the nearest dumbest Maulana.
So (H) controls makes a contact between the lungs and the heart. And....and...
it controls the heart beat.
My My!
I am just wondering about those who are born with speech impairment. Many such unfortunate souls will not be able to pronounce (H). Does it mean that their heart beat is not controlled?
May be this mystery will also be somehow solved by some 'dutch professor'. I mean a 'dumb professor'. I mean a 'dumb goaty'.
There is more from where this gem came. Like this:
who read the Quran regularly can protect themselves from
psychological diseases
Don't we know this.
Once they rid themselves of psychological diseases like 'human rights', 'respect for women', 'empathy for living beings', 'tolerance', they become perfectly normal 'inspired Muslims'. Now these well adjusted individuals love to:
kill innocent persons in Mumbai, after a ferry ride from terrorist heaven to India.
fly planes into tall buildings.
plant bombs in trains, temples and hospitals.
behead infidels.
rape infidel women.
And some other such indulgences which general public might not be aware of.
If you are wondering, what was the need of such a stupid news item, then read this extract of a Belgian Yoga exponent about the effect of chanting OM during Pranayam (
link):
More specifically, Dr.Leser-Lasario dedicated 25
years of study to the effects of vocal vibrations in the human body and
his work has concluded, with an absolute scientific rigor, that the
emission of vowels during exhales causes a vibratory auto-massage of the
internal organs. These vibrations reach the deepest tissues and nervous
cells, intensifying blood circulation in the target tissues and internal
organs. Internal secreting glands are equally stimulated to secrete
their hormones directly into the bloodstream and the lymph (pituitary,
pineal, thyroids, thymus, adrenals and gonads), and this vibration of
the vocal chords similarly influences both the sympathetic and vagus
nerve. The musculature of the breathing apparatus is both relaxed and
strengthened, expanding the thoracic cavity and thus the pulmonary
capacity, an enlarged breathe which translates in an increase of oxygen
supply to the whole body. Besides, the vibrant internal massage
resulting from the emission of the vowels 'au', acts especially in the
abdominal organs and the organs of the thoracic cage, whilst the
vibration of the 'mmm' in our skulls induces a vibration of the cranial
nerves. The OM being chanted during the exhalation, it
directly contributes to make it slow, regular and complete. The emission
of the 'Au' sound limits the pace of the expired air, and the benefits
of slow breathing are numerous and well known by Yoga practitioners
(increased lung capacity results in a higher supply of oxygen, increased
vitality, cleansing of the bloodstream and toxins in the lungs, and
calming of the brain, amongst others). Regular exhale is a direct result
of a uniform emission of the 'au' sound, which, if prolonged until the
end of our capacity, assures the complete emptiness of our lungs. This
complete, regular and slow breathing enables us to totally expel the
stale air from our lungs and reduce as much as possible the volume of
residual air. As an immediate and direct consequence of this integral
emptying of the lungs, our inhale enlarges and deepens progressively,
increasing our lung capacity and oxygen supply with the previously
stated beneficial effects.
Now, do you get it?
Such truths are killing the Sharia obsessed Mullahs, so they are trying desperately to clutch on to the straws which are not even there.
Unlike the imaginary professor, these have been carried out by universities.
Here is the one by University of Maryland Medical Institute. Look at the links to reference mentioned at the end of the page. It tells us about the real facts:
The benefits of yoga
Yoga
improves fitness, lowers blood pressure, promotes relaxation and
self-confidence, and reduces stress and anxiety. People who practice
yoga tend to have good coordination, posture, flexibility, range of
motion, concentration, sleep habits, and digestion. Yoga is a
complementary therapy that has been used with conventional therapies to
help treat a wide range of health problems, but it is not a cure for any
particular disease.
Studies show that yoga may help the following conditions:
- Anxiety and stress
- Arthritis -- osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
- Asthma
- Cancer,
as an adjunct therapy to reduce stress and strengthen the immune
system. One study of 68 breast cancer patients found that those who
practiced yoga has less anxiety and depression compared to those who
didn't. Even the DNA damage from radiotherapy was slightly less in the
yoga group compared to the control group.
- Chronic back pain
- Depression
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Heart
disease, by lowering cholesterol levels, lowering blood pressure,
lessening stress, and reducing the frequency and severity of chest pain
(when combined with a healthy diet)
- High blood pressure
- Hormonal imbalances
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Lung diseases
- Pregnancy
- Migraine headaches
In
addition, yoga postures that stretch and strengthen the joints in the
upper body may improve grip strength and reduce pain among people with
carpal tunnel syndrome.

It is such eye opening researches which establish that religions are superfluous and it is 'Dharm' that is supreme. But such truths are a nightmare for 'control freaks' of today as they were for popes of yesteryears.
The main anxiety of these control freaks is that the day everyone will know the beneficial effects of OM, they will lose their bread and butter and mutton and wine.
As more and more sensible persons from all religions are appreciating the truth and efficacy of Yog and Pranayam, we are looking at a better tomorrow. Free of bigotry and fanaticism.
All the more respect for people like Swami Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who do not discriminate on the basis of religion. They present such a stark contrast to insecure Catholics and Obscure Mullahs.
