Najis things in Islam

It is common knowledge that Muslims consider Swine to be a detestable animal. The word used for detestable objects in Islam is 'najis' or नाजिस. Thus a swine or a pig is 'najis'.
Is there anything else that is considered detestable in this religion?
Well, we can look at some authentic sites of the religion like here or here.The ten things which are 'najis' are Urine, Faeces, Semen, Dead body, Dog, Pig, Kaafir (काफिर), alcoholic liquors and finally the sweat of an animal who persistently eats najasat (नजासत).
Since I am a Hindu and proud of being one, I was taken aback by this information. Now, Hindu religion (which is also called वैदिक, सनातन or आर्य धर्म), the oldest and wisest surviving civilization, does not discriminate between human beings on the basis of way of worship. Therefore it sounds utterly surprising to any Hindu that there can exist a religion or ideology or creed which can be so discriminatory.
The first step that I took was to verify about the facts from the few Muslims I had known. The first reaction was to twist around the question, which did not inspire much confidence.
The second was to say that the term 'kaafir' is for atheists and not people of other religions. This seemed to make sense.
But those who were educated and were on more intimate terms with me felt embarassed to acknowledge the fact that Islam considers people of all the other religions, as well as atheists, as 'kaafirs'.

But, who is to decide that which things are 'najis' according to Islam?
Is it on the whims and fancies of the clergy to decide whom to brand 'najis' and whom to consider pure?
The answer is 'Yes' and 'No'. Yes it is the clergy who teaches and propagates about the teachings of Islam. But, it is not to their whims and fancies. Every thing has to be according to the supreme book of Islam i.e. 'Quran'.
The original Quran is in Arabic. Let us look at one of its verses which talks about this discrimintion. It is verse 28 of chapter 9. The original arabic verse is:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ نَجَسٌ فَلَا يَقْرَبُوا الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ هَـٰذَا ۚ وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَةً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ اللَّـهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ إِن شَاءَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

Its hindi translation can be found

ऐ ईमान लानेवालो! मुशरिक तो बस अपवित्र ही है। अतः इस वर्ष के पश्चात वे मस्जिदे हराम के पास न आएँ। और यदि तुम्हें निर्धनता का भय हो तो आगे यदि अल्लाह चाहेगा तो तुम्हें अपने अनुग्रह से समृद्ध कर देगा। निश्चय ही अल्लाह सब कुछ जाननेवाला, अत्यन्त तत्वदर्शी है

This translation has been done by two eminent scholars of Islam, based Jamia Milia, New Delhi. They are Maulana Mohammad Farooq Khan and Dr. Mohammad Ahmed. 
The word used here is not 'kaafir' but 'mushrik'. It has been shown in red in the arabic verse. Its transliteration is 'अल मुश्रीकूना'. In arabic, it is plural of मुशरिक. The dictionary meaning of 'mushrik' is 'polytheist' i.e. one who believes in more then one God's. Actually, this word comes from the word 'shirk' or शिर्क. As an example, the word commonly used in arabic and urdu; शिरकत means 'also participated'. Thus as will be clear in the forthcoming references, actual meaning of 'mushrik' is 'one who uses other names for Allah'. Anyway, what becomes clear is that Hindus like me, who might say that the creator has many names like राम, कृष्ण, शिव, विष्णु, गणेश are called 'mushrik' and thus are 'naajis', thus अपवित्र. Let us now focus on the word 'नजासून',(highlighted in blue) in the original arabic verse. It is plural of the नाजिस.
Now, let us look at the english translation of the same verse by another eminent Islamist of our country. His name was 'Ahmed Raza Khan'. According to him, the first sentence is translated as:

O People who Believe! The polytheists are utterly filthy

Then, according to translation rendered by another respected scholar, Mohammad Pickthall:

O ye who believe! The idolaters only are unclean.

The use of the term idolatoers also means that me and other Hindus are unclean or 'najis'.
So far, we have seen that the word 'mushrik' has been explained as 'polytheists', 'idolaters' and 'those who call the creator by other names then Allah'. Whichever of these we might take, Hindus are definitely 'najis' according to Islam. The widest circulating Quran translation is said to be the one rendered by Hilali and Khan. This is the version which is also distributed to the 'Haj' travellers by the Saudi Arabian government. According to Hilali and Khan:

O you who believe (in Allah's Oneness and in His Messenger (Muhammad SAW)! Verily, the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, and in the Message of Muhammad SAW) are Najasun (impure). So let them not come near Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) after this year, and if you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you if He will, out of His Bounty. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. 

This version removes doubts regarding the meaning of 'mushrik', if there was any left.
If all this is true, then Hindus, which includes बोध, जैन, सिख are all filthy, unclean, detestable and Najis.
What about Christians and Jews?
For that one has to read the next verse of Quran. Verse 29 of chapter 9. Here it is:

قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّـهِ وَلَا بِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّـهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ الْحَقِّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ حَتَّىٰ يُعْطُوا الْجِزْيَةَ عَن يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ ﴿٢٩﴾

It has been translated in English by Maulana Ahmed Raza Khan as:

Fight against the People given the Book(s) who do not accept faith in Allah and the Last Day, and who do not treat as forbidden what is forbidden by Allah and by His Noble Messenger, and who do not follow the true religion, until they pay the tariff with their own hands with humiliation.

Quran calls Christians and Jews as 'people of the book' or 'people with the book'. The term used is 'kitabi' or 'ahle kitab' i.e. किताबी or अहले किताबी. The reason is that their religions are also based on one book; Bible for Christians and Torah for Jews.
The extent of intolerance to these two creeds is also clear in this verse.
Let us look at the hindi rendition of the verse:

अहले किताब में से जो लोग न तो (दिल से) ख़ुदा ही पर ईमान रखते हैं और न रोज़े आख़िरत पर और न ख़ुदा और उसके रसूल की हराम की हुई चीज़ों को हराम समझते हैं और न सच्चे दीन ही को एख्तियार करते हैं उन लोगों से लड़े जाओ यहाँ तक कि वह लोग ज़लील होकर (अपने) हाथ से जज़िया दे

So, the only 'सच्चा दीन' or 'true religion' is Islam and those who do not follow it are 'najis' and must be fought against.
But, have we not digressed?
We started with 'kaafir' and discussed about 'mushrik'. Actually, both 'mushriks', as well as 'people of the book' are Kaafir. And they have been described in verse 55 of chapter 8 also. Here it is:

إِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَابِّ عِندَ اللَّـهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿٥٥﴾

The red word can be transliterated as 'kuffaru', which is plural of 'kaafir'. Now, let us see its Hindi translation by Farooq Khan & Nadwi.

इसमें शक़ नहीं कि ख़ुदा के नज़दीक जानवरों में कुफ्फ़ार सबसे बदतरीन तो (बावजूद इसके) फिर ईमान नहीं लाते

So, the 'kuffar' are the 'बदतरीन जानवर', that is to say worst of the worst animals. Why? because they are not Muslims.
Is the English rendition by scholars different.

Verily, The worst of moving (living) creatures before Allah are those who disbelieve, - so they shall not believe.

Hilali and Khan

Yusuf Ali, another great scholar of Islam has translated this as:

For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are those who reject Him: They will not believe.

Is it why Pakistan and Bangladesh have been created out of our Motherland?
Is this why Hindu population has been pushed out of Kashmir?
The irony is that the tax that Hindu majority nation pays to the government is being used to run state funded Madrasas, where the Imam teaches generation upon generation that Hindus are 'Najis'.
Some secular jerk with Hindu name will come up with stupidest of explanation for this irony. 
Is it a ticking bomb?
