Understanding the term
In Islam, when a man pronounces triple talaaq to his wife, it means that the woman is now 'haraam' for the husband. The act may have been done in a fit of rage, due to some doubt or under drunken state. The power of husband is so absolute that the divorce is enforced. Whether the woman wanted the divorce or not, she has no control over her life.
But what if the chuvinistic pig decides to take her back?
Then the procedure recommended is:
She must be married to another man, after the mandatory three months waiting period. Then the marriage must be consummated. Then the second husband should give her divorce. Then she should wait for the mandatory three months waiting period. Now, they can reunite.
This is known as HALAALAH.
Try to think of something more demeaning to a woman and the chances are that you will come a cropper.
How Mullahs befool us
Over the centuries, the Maulavis have perfected the art of befooling general public. One of their answers is that 'it is to ensure that divorce is not abused'. Their second parroted reply is that the prophet himself claimed that 'Allah did not make anything lawful more abominable to Him than divorce'.
What they do not tell us is that if 'Allah' created every thing, how come he made divorce so simple for Muslim men, even though it is abominable. It seems that Allah has failed in controlling the divorce because 'triple talaaq' is the most used method of throwing wives out of their houses.
The strictness with which the 'law' is enforced can be gauged from the fact that when a young husband, while chatting with his wife, playfully typed the word talaaq three times, the ulema of Darul Uloom, the highest authority in our country proclaimed that the divorce has been performed and if the couple wants to unite, the procedure of 'Halaalah' has to be followed.
Fooling the media
What is even more interesting is the response of Antonia's pet poodle, Kamal Faruqui. According to news item of 'The Hindu' titled 'Fatwa cancelling Nikah after jest on skype sparks debate' :
AIMPLB member Kamal Farooqui said ‘nikah' was a contract, a serious issue, and talaq could not be pronounced thrice even in a lighter vein. “Chatting in which the youth reportedly typed talaq thrice is evidence enough,” Mr. Farooqui told The Hindu from Delhi. He said in Islam marriage was a “pious union.”
Look at the stupidity of the answer. No hint of reforming the monstrous provision. Trying to befool by saying some mumbo jumbo like 'pious union'. Whether the journalist did not have the guts to ask the question or Kamal did not answer it, is not clear from the news.
Pious Union?
Let us try to believe that it is a pious union, as claimed by these 'seculars'. Then why is it that the woman has to suffer the brunt of this barbarism. She has no power to pronounce the triple talaaq and still she is the one who must suffer the humiliation of becoming the 'wife' of another man and consummate the marriage to become eligible to be married to the rascal who threw out her in the first place.
Does Quran talk about divorce?
When the apologists of Islam are cornered, they try to pretend that Quran does not talk about divorce. This trick works beautifully with all those who have never bothered to read the book, including journalists. Let us see what Quran says about divorce. Chapter 2, Verses 226 - 228:
Those who swear not to touch their wives have four months’ time; so if they turn back during this period, indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.
And if they firmly decide to divorce them, Allah is All Hearing, All Knowing.
And divorced women shall restrain themselves for three menstrual periods; and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs if they believe in Allah and the Last Day; and their husbands have the right to take them back, during this time, if they desire reconciliation; and the women also have rights similar to those of men over them, in accordance with Islamic law – and men have superiority over them; and Allah is Almighty, Wise.
Look at the complete one sidedness. To get the import of the sentence in blue, read here.
Halaalah in Quran
Refer to the above news item of 'The Hindu'. A Muslim woman has been quoted:
She said that the triple talaq was a “pre-Islamic” concept, and the Holy Koran was silent on it.
Here is Quran on the subject. Chapter 2, Verse 30:
Then if he divorces her the third time, she will not be lawful to him until she has stayed with another husband; then if the other husband divorces her, it is no sin for these two to reunite if they consider that they can keep the limits of Allah established; these are the limits set by Allah which He explains for people of intellect. This is the impunity with which media is being used to befool more then one billion people of our country.
'Prophet' Mohammad on Halaalah
Mohammad, the founder of Islam, had also used the threat of divorce to control his harem. Thus one can think of the attitude of such a person towards divorce. The disgusting tradition of Halaalah was prescribed by Mohammad himself. Here is his command regarding Halaalah:
The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) was asked about a man who divorced his wife three times, and she married another who entered upon her, but divorced her before having intercourse with her, whether she was lawful for the former husband. She said: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) replied: She is not lawful for the first (husband) until she tastes the honey of the other husband and he tastes her honey.
sunan Abu Dawud, Kitab al talaaq, no. 2302
Still 'secularists' and marxists want us to believe that Islam gives respectable position to women.
Well, their time is coming to an end.
